Our Story
The shop is located on a family farm growing Award Winning Malting Barley. North Norfolk is steeped in a rich malting and brewing heritage and for 20 years we have built up an unparalleled bond with our local brewers, ensuring the strongest connection between the best malting barley and the finest real ales. This malting barley now also supplies our own craft brewery, Malt Coast, located here on the farm.
In addition to this premier beer offering, we now have something for everyone showcasing the best of Norfolk with the addition of wines, spirits and more.
Our Barley
Branthill Farm enjoys the distinctive coastal climate of North Norfolk which helps extend the natural ripening process, giving the malt a superior quality for these superb real ales and Malt Coast craft beer. It is one of the best places on the planet for growing malting barley.

Barley to Beer…
This is the ethos of both our very own Malt Coast brewery and The Norfolk Bottle shop. Adjacent to the shop, the Barley to Beer you’ll find information charting a barley to beer story and the history of brewing and beer both on this farm and in this region. We have also created an indoor seating area for you to enjoy your purchases from the shop as well as Malt Coast on draught and in the summer, our wood fired pizzas.
